Style Diary

Hi all,

I went out for a lovely lunch with my mother, and I thought I would snap a couple of pictures for the blog. However, my mom is rather, ahem, elementary on her photography skills (as I am not any better either). I am trying to devise a way to come up with better quality photos--but this is the best I could do. So anyway, this is what I wore!

H&M coat (similar), Banana Republic sweater (old), Black skirt (similar), Modcloth boots (old)

PS Check out my mom's finger in the photos!

London Fashion Week Favorites

Hi everyone!

Happy London Fashion Week! I figured that I'd go ahead an post a quick review, as LFW is coming to a close relatively soon. First of all, LFW is very different from NYFW. The designers have a distinct style (almost a more harder edge), in all of their pieces. It seems a little less crazy than NYFW, which makes sense because there aren't as many designers showing at LFW than at NYFW.

Because LFW had more "esoteric" designs, I had a difficult time choosing pieces that I really loved. I am well-aware of the extreme time and effort that goes into putting together a show, and I am in no way trying to demean any of the work. Personally, the fashion didn't seem as "wearable" to me in comparison to what was shown at NYFW. But, I discovered several new designers that I'd love to share with you all!

Vivienne Westwood Red Label

Burberry Prorsum

New York Fashion Week Favorites (Part 2)

Hi everyone!

Keeping up with NYFW was a really exciting experience for me--as it was my first time looking at quite a lot of shows. Personally, I'm so glad that I kept up with NYFW because I discovered so many new designers and found a couple of trends to look out for in the coming Fall fashion. For those of you who weren't able to see pictures, I'm BEYOND excited for Fall--there are some great trends coming our way. I was quite surprised to see a lot of diversity and breadth on the runway. Especially when talking about colors. Some designers stuck with a very basic neutral palette while others chose bright colors and bold patterns. However, I've only been able see about 50% of the designers that showed their work in NY, and I'm hoping that I'll be able to check out the rest in the days to come.

For those of you experiencing NYFW withdrawal, have no fear because we still have London, Paris, and Milan! LFW started today, and I'm beyond ready to see what the designers have in store.

New York Fashion Week Favorites (So Far)

Hi everyone!

Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend. I have been spending the majority of my time indoors (as it is snowing here), looking at some of the amazing designs that are coming out of NYFW! I'm so excited to try out some of these amazing new trends this fall. From parisian chic, 60's retro, 20th century silhouettes, there are such incredible looks to keep an eye out for. I also love the vast color palette that I've been seeing lately--from hazy neutrals, edgy blacks, ethnic prints, to soft pastels. The options are truly endless! My personal favorites so far have been Rebecca Taylor, Christian Siriano, Tanya Taylor, Kate Spade, and Cushnie et Ochs.
